Post# Resolving Interpersonal Conflict

people : A, B

-situation and main problem : 

: A and B are friends. Recently A  met a guy and they are in relationship now. A introduces her boyfriend to B.

Actually B knows A's boyfriend because she heard about him before. Someone told her that he is notorious for flirting with all the girls he knows.  

So, B says to A what she heard. 

And they have a quarrel. 

-motivation : A thinks that B is jealous about her new relationship and that is why she is trying to say bad about him. 

She doesn't believe at all what B is saying.

B wants A to knows about the rumor about him and tries to help her think again about the relationship. 

-feeling : A got upset and is disappointed about B. B is embarrassed about A's reaction and also disappointed about A.

-causes : the main cause of this situation is the difference in their point of view.  

-solution : As they have different point of view, it isn't easy to resolve this situation.

Firstly, B should think again before talking about the rumor to A. B doesn't know weather the rumor is true or not.

Even though it is true, B has to be more discreet as it is related to A's boyfriend. 

Nobody wants to hear about the bad aspect of their boy/girl friend.

Since B tells A the rumor directly, it hearts A's mind and makes A lose her temper.

To prevent this situation, B should have explained more in detail about the rumor. 

Also, she should have tried to use word that is more smooth.

In addition, A should have tried to listen to B. 

As she got upset as soon as she heard what B was saying, they could't have a conversation and just had a quarrel.

Rather than getting upset immediately and reacting emotionally, 

A should have listened to B more patiently and asked her more detailed information.

   

Post#1 Why profesional communication skills are important for you?

These days efficeint commucation is very important to achieve various goals in our lives. When we have conversation without efficiency and accuracy, it is easy to missunderstand eachother. Thus, personsl relationship in social realm including work place depends greatly on the communication. Moreover, accont for the development of telecomunication, the character of communication has changed and is changing rapidly. This is the reason why we should learn and practice professional communication skills. To be more specific, there is an example which illustrates the neccesity of communication skills.

Nowadays, the range of communication has been expanding to the extent that we sometimes have to deal with international matters, not to mention various domestic problems. For example, some countries have conflicts with other countries due to frontier problems, of which the outcomes vary markedly depending on the communication capacity . As we can see in this simple example, we should be well prepared to communicate in this world with wide range of communication atmosphere.     

To sum up, accurate and efficient communicating ability is getting more important than ever before. In this situation, various communication skills help us to communicate better in various situations. We can learn how to present our ideas to others more precisely, and we can excercise the way to understand the ideas of other people more effciently. Plus, the noise of conversation such as semantic, psychological, and environmental obstacles can be overcomed by practicing communication skills. This is the reason why I want to take this course to learn how to communicate effectively in order to persuade and negotiate with other people.
